The Great Depression, that economic horror-show brought on by the corrupt greed of an elite Wall Street Banking class, brought the working poor of America to their collective knees as the roaring ‘20s gave way to the dust bowl.
When we look around our community and see the plight of America’s homeless population on vivid, sometimes gruesome display, and we observe the increasing tension between America’s most wealthy and the other 90%, one must pause and wonder whether “The Grapes of Wrath” could ever be relegated to the status of a mere period piece.
